Ultrabeat - The Weekend Has Landed (album)

Personal opinion i thought this album was a bit of a joke i much prefer mikes old routes bcd,maximum hustler and the first album was a lot better etc that sound i know is a bit dated now but this Cascada sound that everybody is slaughtering is quickly becoming dated it works for Cascada because there in a league of there own when it comes to writing arrangement and production.

The only track that stood out to me is so many times and that's because he ripped the melody of art of trance madagascar (in true mike style) other examples of mikes tweaks cough cough maxium hustler module 1 is a tweak if you like of till tears do us part-heavens cry module 2 blank and jones-the night fly or out of love forgot which one lol Ultrabeat i wanna touch you vocal line well vocal melody is ripped well we'll say inspired by madonna like a prayer ultrabeats remix of i'll be there melody sounds to me like binary finary-1998 there's more but you get the picture mikes quite a tweaker


Don't get me wrong he may not be incredibly original (who is these days) but he does use them to good effect everything else on the album sounded rushed to me bit of nexus sidechain and some euro-pop style vocals winning formula for today's comm trance,dance

actually cascada's COPYCAT sound doesn't work for them because only one of the singles have been in the top ten & thats Evacuate The Dancefloor

Am not rating them on there chart position mate i ain't followed the charts in ages lol am rating them on there production and arrangement skills they tend to sound alot more polished and the arrangements sound a lot more dynamic than the opposition same could be said for mayth proper cheesy but the arrangements/and transitions etc just sound alot more interesting and musical in my opinion to the likes of Ultrabeat but am not a big fan of Cascada either i can just appreciate there production skills and musical skills

I was a big big fan of mikes early work some of the early ultrabeat covers where furrckin class (e.g lullaby,elysium, his loveshy remix etc etc) and some of his early remixes maximum hustler,rezonance q,bcd etc etc

Ultrabeat will be around along time after cascada have disappeared. I can see Mike coming up with a fresh sound and future commercial success Cascada are finished in their current form

cascada wont dissapear :P cascada are worldwide ultrabeat are more just europe ( even if that) love the two bands but cascada have a bigger name so ultrabeat will be gone before in my opinion not looking for an argument just saying
